Ronna Bury-Prince
Certified Exit Planning Advisor / Chief Strategy Officer
As a Consulting Director and Chief Strategy Officer at Ambassador Consulting Solutions, my responsibilities include leading our team in the areas of exit planning, financial analysis and business valuations. I have completed over 70 M&A transactions over my years in finance, ranging in sales proceeds from $20 million to $2 billion.
In 2023, I was awarded the Certified Exit Planning Advisor designation from the Exit Planning InstituteTM to complement my years of business valuation experience in a variety of industries.
I have worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years, and I specialize in budgeting and long-term forecasting, capital structuring, business valuation, merger and acquisition strategy and financing, and profit enhancement. Prior to joining Ambassador Consulting Solutions, I worked at Prince Financial Services, Maricopa Partners, Xyterra Computing, and JP Morgan Chase Bank.
I enjoy leading all aspects of strategic and financial planning, including the implementation of specific steps that enhance business growth and expansion. When it comes to my job, I most enjoy getting to know the people that run the business and understanding their long-term vision. From here, I excel in finding creative solutions to business needs. I consider myself to be a partner with my clients – they know where they want to go, and I partner with them to create the best strategy to get there.
I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago with a BA in Political Science. At the First National Bank of Chicago, I completed an MBA training program followed by a formal Corporate Credit Training program. I rotated through all of FNBC’s specialized industries: Banking and Insurance, Transportation (rail, trucking and aviation), Oil & Gas, Commodities, Retail, and Communications. I also enjoyed rotations through the Capital Markets’ Private Placements and Syndications divisions and FNBC’s Private Bank. I then spent 15 years as a relationship manager and credit officer in the Communications Department of FNBC’s Specialized Industries Division. We built our portfolio to about $2 BN and held industry leading positions in cable and television companies. I estimate each year, my team and I managed about 5 to 10 acquisition financings, capital expenditure expansions and other financing types ranging from $50 MM to $2 BN in facility size.
In my subsequent positions in finance, I expanded my skill set to include angel financing of start-ups, venture capital backed funding and private debt financing transactions in distress situations. Having served as a Director of Finance in a start-up computer blade-server company, I enjoyed the hands-on experience of budgeting for 10 departments and reporting to C-Suite execs on financial performance and variance analysis. This industry experience greatly enhanced my understanding of the finance department’s challenges inside small and medium businesses. As a consultant, I am able to help finance staff present information to lenders and execs in a clear and compelling format.
I currently live in Winfield, Illinois with my fiancé Donald, a chiropractic physician. We each have four adult children and feel especially blessed with five intelligent, creative, and kind grandchildren. In my free time, I enjoy bicycling, hiking, and music.
